How often do you see Aliea running with a SMILE!
Anton may be smiling, but he is struggling to catch up with Dylan. Oh boy, Dylan looked focused.
5 O’clock

As usual, the most popular appliance in the house is the computer.
D: Jie, may I play with the computer?
J: Sure. At 5 o’clock, ok?
So, D waited “patiently” for a while.
D: Mama, Jie doesn’t want to let me use the computer.
M: But it’s not yet 5 o’clock.
D: What’s 5 o’clock?
M: It’s when the short hand of the clock points at 5 and the long hand points at 12.
D: Oh.
D picks up the clock and examines it. A few seconds later, he shows it to Jie.
D: Jie, it’s 5 o’clock already!!!
The next day, TH was wondering why the alarm clock was advanced by an hour…

Bryan’s Meet The Teacher Session

Last saturday, we met up with Bryan’s Teacher for his “Meet The Teacher Session”.
Before meeting up, I asked Bryan what will his teacher say about him to us.
Bryan : “Miss Lee will say I am talkative, a bit proud and sometime talk loudly in class”.
No surprises. Bryan has always been an honest boy.
Miss Lee reaffirmed what Bryan had told me but she said attitude wise Bryan has improved alot. Compare to the first 2 semester, he is much less talkative and more attentive in class.
Miss Lee also commented that Bryan is a very confident student, maybe Bryan confused that with being proud, loves interactive lessons and shows good interest in speech and drama. Oh, Miss Lee also noticed that he likes the sport of Wushu.
Academic wise, his teacher is happy with his progress in English , esp in listening comprehension, but as usual, commented on his bad handwritting and carelessness. Hmmm, something for us to work on.
This “Meet The Teacher Session also allows us the opportunity to visit his classroom and environment.
Here are a couple of Bryan’s work that I took while looking around his classroom.
Board Games

Juls has been trying to introduce the boys to playing board games.
In Australia, the two boys were very engrossed with some figurines board game that we saw in one of the games shop.
So we got them the game “RISK” which is available here. It was one of my favourite as a kid.
Anyway, after spending 30 mins explaining to them the rules of the game, Bryan replied “Papa, could we just play according to our own rules ? ”
Oh well ….
Multi Player Network Mode

The two boys have been hooked into playing Age of Mythology in a Multi Player Network Mode. It is a good bonding session for them and it also keeps them away from fighting over one computer!
Bryan, being the better player prefers to play the game in the “fight each other” mode whereas Dylan prefer the “team” mode for obvious reason.
It is such a joy watching them discussing tactics and strategies. Picture shows them in “team mode” with Bryan doing some “coaching” as well.

In the afternoon, the sky cleared up enough for us to visit the well known The Margaret River Chocolate Factory in Swan Valley. Swan Valley is about 25 mins drive from Perth City, South West Australia. It is quite easy to get there and you know you are in Swan Valley when you see vineyards appearing on the left and right of you as you drive along.

After a slight wait at the Hertz Car Rental counter, we managed to get the keys to our rental car. Seck has gotten us a 8 seater, Toyota Tarango. It was a nice car. Enough room to fit our luggages and also roomy for all of us. We gonna spend alot of time in this car as we travelled around South West Australia, so it was a good choice on hindsight

Excerpt taken from our South West Australia Holidays Travel Journal :
After a 5.5 hr flight from Singapore, we finally touched down at Perth. As it was a midnight flight, we arrived at Perth International Airport at around 6.30 am.
I was so tired and sleepy. Was trying hard to get some sleep and just as I was about to get into my slumber , the stewardess turned on the lights to serve breakfast. Arghh……
